Siddhartha (Sid) Majumdar has been the Manager of Connectivity and Technical Resources for CEAT at the University of Illinois for 5 years.  He completed his bachelor's degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) with a major emphasis on Structural Engineering and minor emphasis on Hydraulics.  He completed his master's degree at UIUC specializing in Environmental Hydrology and Hydraulics.  He began working with Professor Edwin Herricks during the final 2 semesters of his MS program and has since provided leadership in designing, implementing, and maintaining the critical data management infrastructure in the Airport Safety Management Program.  He has been responsible for maintaining the group's computing and networking capabilities.  As a part of this he has overseen the creation of the group's websites and data servers, as well as their internal organization and communication. In addition to systems and information technology skill sets, Sid has also been a key member of the field team that has been involved in setup, validation, maintenance, and connectivity for avian radar systems at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, Dallas-Forth Worth, Seattle-Tacoma, O'Hare, and John F. Kennedy International Airports, as well as FOD Detection System assessments at T.F. Green, Boston Logan, and O'Hare International Airports.  Sid manages the workloads and training of all of the group's student hourly workers at UIUC.  Sid has also lead development of the final version of the Visual Guidance data acquisition device, and low cost mobile radar systems.
