ORD Airport

Chicago's O'Hare International Airport is regularly ranked among the busiest airports in the world.  Following a serious bird strike in 2006, O'Hare Department of Aviation and U. S. Department of Agriculture Wildlife Services asked to participate in the avian radar performance assessments.  In the Spring of 2009 three radars were deployed to O'Hare and permanently installed in October of 2009.  In August of 2013 one of those radars, the AR1, was decomissioned.
